Neil Parker believes common sense should drive communications strategy. The problem is that most organizations and spokespersons don’t apply those simple strategies as common practices.
With deep experience as a communications consultant and trainer and, previously, as a broadcast journalist, Neil has a successful track record advising clients on how to get their message through the clutter of today’s media landscape. Previously Managing Director at Burson-Marsteller, a global public relations firm, Neil has worked with senior executives from major corporations, associations, educational institutions and non-profit organizations throughout the U.S. and Europe.
Among the dozens of organizations where Neil has developed media relations and training programs are American Library Association, Takeda Pharmaceuticals, Merrill Lynch, Accenture, City Colleges of Chicago, National Association of Realtors, Environmental Law and Policy Center, Unilever, Delphi and Hormel Foods.
Neil began his career as a broadcast journalist. He was news director, anchor and reporter for WXRT Radio and assignment editor and news writer at WBBM-TV, both in Chicago.
