Harnessing her diverse experience in media relations, public affairs, and community outreach, Britt develops and manages thoughtful media and communications strategies for Hawthorne clients. Britt is an organized and results-driven strategist with a passion for helping clients effectively communicate their values and messages to key audiences. Always ready to tackle a new project, Britt quickly adapts to client needs and supports them through every planning phase.
For her leadership and commitment to client service, Britt was part of the inaugural class of the Publicity Club of Chicago’s “30 Under 30” in 2019.
Prior to joining the team at Hawthorne, Britt served as press secretary for U.S. Senator Mark Kirk. During her time at Senator Kirk’s office, Britt led media relations and community engagement efforts in the Illinois market on behalf of the Senator, including the execution of press events across the state. Britt began her media relations career in Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart’s Department of Policy and Communications, where she assisted in the rebranding of the Sheriff’s Neighborhood Restoration Initiative among other key projects.
Britt, a graduate of Loyola University Chicago, has her bachelor’s degree in psychology and criminal justice and a master’s degree in criminal justice and criminology.
When she is not pitching stories to reporters on behalf of Hawthorne clients, Britt is an active member of the Chicago Walk to End Alzheimer’s volunteer committee, leading efforts to recruit new teams and expand awareness of Alzheimer’s disease.
