In the world of PR, there is no job too big or too small as far as Jacki Goense’s concerned. Whether it was running point on high-profile product launch events or tracking down pet hair for a client’s vacuum demonstration, a commitment to getting the job done has been Jacki’s driving force throughout her career.
After beginning her career at a global PR agency, Jacki was drawn to the tight-knit, collaborative culture at Hawthorne, where she enjoys working hand-in-hand with clients on a daily basis. Leveraging her journalism degree, Jacki brings her passion for storytelling to help her clients promote the impactful work they do. Recently, Jacki executed a media strategy on behalf of a non-profit client to announce a historic $50 million investment in inner-city Chicago schools, securing numerous high-profile placements across print, broadcast, and radio, along with key trade publications.
Jacki also brings deep expertise leveraging and maximizing trade media and events. From the international Consumer Electronics Show to the Chicago Dental Society’s Midwinter Meeting, Jacki has led both internal and external communications support and strategy for numerous trade shows and events on behalf of clients.
Prior to joining Hawthorne, Jacki held multiple positions at Ogilvy Public Relations, where she served in a client service capacity on behalf of a global consumer technology company. During her time there, she was responsible for a broad set of duties including strategy and planning, media relations, content development, event management, client relations, and reporting and analysis. Jacki also has experience working in a freelance and consulting capacity, during which time she managed multiple public relations, marketing, art, and design projects.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
