Stemming from her lifetime long love for books, Mia Mastandrea is a natural storyteller. Whether it be authoring a client’s biweekly business column or developing an organization’s social media strategy, Mia leverages her journalism background to deliver as a skilled and efficient communicator across both digital and traditional platforms.
During her time at Hawthorne, Mia has worked on accounts spread across industries from healthcare and food and beverage to nonprofit and technology. No matter if it’s announcing a shift in leadership from a government-tied agency or educating key donors on an association’s acquisition, Mia strategically helps her industry-diverse clients find the right words to communicate vital announcements, attract media, and make a splash in the digital space.
When it comes to social media, Mia excels at taking on a brand’s voice and delivering their key messages in an engaging yet informative manner. Her favorite aspect of managing social channels is the opportunity to get creative with implementing campaigns and delivering analytical reports that reflect a platform’s growth and success in a digestible format.
Prior to joining the Hawthorne team, Mia most recently worked for a Chicago event planning agency, organizing galas and social gatherings from start to finish in venues across the City of Chicago and its suburbs. She also worked for a marketing startup where she was involved in a variety of digital projects from video production to print collateral development.
When Mia isn’t helping clients achieve the communication goals of their dreams, she is spending time growing her professional network with the PRSA Chicago Communications Committee and developing biweekly newsletters. She is also reality TV’s most loyal follower and loves to put her cooking and baking ability to the test with a new recipe.
